Dawn trudged down the streets of Sunnydale. Her pale hands were stuffed inside her jean pockets. They were a dark navy blue. The buldge in her pants didn't only come from her hands though. She had snatched a wrist watch from the Sears store at the mall. It was a easy take. Mall security wasn't that good. Everyone was too busy shopping or too lazy too look. Whatever. It was good for her.
The item in her left pocket was a pack of chocolate mint flavored gum. She was currently chewing on a piece. It tasted good. It had been one of those desert ones. Odd but yummy.
The rest of her attire consisted of a light misty violet tank top with a thin, light pink sweater that vaguley resembled a peach color. Her white sneakers barely made a sound as they hit the pavement. The sun had ducked behind the buildings about three hours ago. The street lights had began to light up, showing the way ahead to anyone on the streets and the drivers. Dawn didn't really know why she was still out at this time of night. She didn't know what she was doing. She felt out of it almost. Just... waiting. For what she didn't know. She was deeply wrapped up in her thoughts. Everything felt complicated lately. But at the same time everything was simple. Her mother was dead. Her sister was dead. The others hated her and she was a kleptomaniac and also a "key". There was no certainty on the hate thing but in her mind it was a fact. Why else would they aboanden her?
But she wasn't aboandened. Or alone. They still housed her. Took care of her. Made sure she was well and safe. But was it because they wanted too or because they had too?
The teens gaze turned to the ground, her head bowing just a little more. A hushed sigh slipped past her faintly glossed lips. Dawn had been out here for hours. Wandering in what felt like cicles. Straight after school Dawn had left for the mall. She hadn't bothered to tell the others. She wondered if they'd notice her disapearance. Part of her doubted it. She still thought that part of them secretly hoped that something bad happened to her. So they wouldn't have to put up with her or the trouble she caused anymore.
She felt lost in her own life. Dawn missed not knowing what she was. She missed everything before that. Even if most of it was just memories the monks had implanted in her brain. She missed when things used to be so simple and... happy... She missed Buffy.

Dark alleys and dark streets. The perfect setting for vampires and other not so supernatural bad guys. It seemed like Sunnydale not only had vampires and demons but they also had their own share of creeps of the human variety. Nothing worse than some teenage perverts that thought they could try and hit on a girl walking home, what really sucked was that unlike vampires she wasn't aloud to kill the humans. Unfortunately. Of course she had nothing better to do than walk around at night, patrolling was what she was good at. Other than school that is.
Her first week at Sunnydale High had been nothing sort of an interesting experience. Never once before had she been in a public school before. The kids, the teachers, everything was new to her. But it was easy because she was quiet which meant no one ever noticed her and she was extremely smart which meant the teachers loved her and therefore left her alone for the most part as well. It was like a win win sort of situation. On the down side since she didn't have a watcher and never had she didn't really know all of the slayer stuff that she could know. For instance she didn't know how the old slayer had died, who she had left behind, why she had died, those were details that were nice to know so that at least Eliza would know where she was picking up from.
She strolled down a side alley and kicked a can out of her way. Clothed in a pair of black converse shoes, a pair of light blue jeans and a dark green plain button up. Her long brunette hair was pulled up in a messy bun and she carried a stake in her back pocket so it was easily accessable. She liked to be prepared for the worst and often hoped for the worst because at least it gave her something to do. Not really ever having lived a normal life she wasn't sure what exactly teenagers her age were supposed to do for fun on a day to day basis. So instead she spent her free time alone or killing evil things. Not the most glamorous life. [/blockquote]

Dawn tucked a strand of her brown hair out of her face as her eyes exaimined the street she was on, her head barely lifting to do so. She didn't see many people out. She guessed that it was a good thing. She had to wonder if many vampires or demons knew if the Slayer was gone yet. A light scoff escaped her lips. She didn't get how they could not. But if they were dumb enough not to know then that was their problem. If it meant that everyone here was alive... it was good.
Dawn closed her eyes as she thought. If everyone here was okay then Buffy didn't die in vain... but she had died to save her too and she was now letting herself fall apart... She cut herself off right there. Not wanting to think about it anymore. Her eyes opened up a few moments later and she looked out at the town before her. As she peered down a side alley she saw another girl out here. She was wearing a dark green shirt, what kind she couldn't see in the dim light. Her pants looked to be blue though and her hair was up in something. Her eye brows slightly furrowed confused. What was she doing out here this late? Didn't she know that it was dangerous out here?
Dawn let out a sigh. Just because her life was doomed doesn't mean that she should let someone else endanger themselves.
Turning off of the main street, Dawn strolled down the alley way. Watching the girl that was there. "You really shouldn't be out this late."

She had almost reached the end of the alleyway when a voice floated over to her. She had to admit that she hadn't been paying as much attention to her surroundings as she should have otherwise she would have seen or heard the girl that had spoken sooner. It was quite funny that this girl that was probably the same age as her and about the same size but was still telling her that she shouldn't be out this late. Talk about hypocricy on her part in the biggest possible way.
I can handle myself but thank you for the suggestion she replied in a heavy Romanian accent. Fresh from Romania and Europe in general which meant her accent was still quite thick. It was true though Eliza was probably one of the highest qualified people out there to be able to take care of herself when the creatures that go bump in the night come to play. But of course she had to remember that it was highly unlikely that this girl would have any idea who she was, there was no way she would know that Eliza was indeed the slayer. No reason she should know.
Little did Eliza know there was a vampire stalking down the alley towards them as they spoke. He wasn't close enough to attack, yet. But Eliza swung around to face him as he got closer Excuse me, but I think you are interrupting she replied waiting for the vampire to make the first move.

Dawn observed the girl as she waited for a reply. She didn't appear to be that much older than her. Possibly the same age even. She looked to be human too. But then again alot of vampires did look human... but if she was human than this really wasn't the safest place for her. Of course it wasn't safe for herself but at least she knew what went bump in the night. For all she knew this girl knew nothing about vampires, demons, and the tons of other nastys that were out here.
Her expression turned into that of a confused one when she heard her accent. So she wasn't from around here... "You're from out of the country?" The language sounded familiar to her but she couldn't place it right now. She then scoffed at her reply. "I highly doubt that."

Ignoring the girl that was talking to her right now she kept her attention on the vampire. Well hello there pretty girls, are you lost? the vampire asked in a sarcastic and laughing tone. Eliza merely shook her head and waited as the vampire advanced on them. Stay back Eliza said turning her head to the other girl for a moment before stepping forward and throwing a hard left hook at the vampires face. The vampire swung back but she sidestepped it and ducked down using her leg to do a sweeping kick and knocking the vampire down.
It wasn't long before he was on his feet again and with a well aimed kick to the chest he sent Eliza into the wall and pinned her there with a laughing sneer Be a good little girl now he hissed in her ear as he moved in to bite her. Before he could sink his teeth into her neck she reached behind her and pulled the stake from her back pocket shoving it through his heart and turning him to nothing but dust. She dusted herself off and looked at the girl, she knew she wasn't supposed to reveal who she was to others but hey it wasn't like she was just going to let this vampire attack them while she acted helpless.
Like I said I can handle myself pretty well. But should you be out here this late is the real question? And yes I am not from here originally but I am here now she replied with a shrug. She didn't like to talk about her past and so she generally chose not to. [/blockquote]

Dawn turned her attention to a man that spoke. At that sarcastic, laughing tone that he had Dawn imediatly knew that he was a vampire. The brunette instinctivly tensed. She was troubled and rather down lately but she didn't want to go up against a vampire. Her thoughts may have been kind of suicidal but when it came to moments that her life was actually on the line she wanted to live.
"Get out of here." She told the girl. It was more of a whisper though for she was a bit nervous. But the girl didn't appear to have heard her for she stepped forward and... Dawn was shocked. She punched the vampire! Did she not know what a vampire was!? But to her surprise the vampire actually looked affected by it.
Dawn took a step back as the fight came close to her. She watched them her eyes kind of wide. When the vampire had her pinned against the wall Dawn hesitated. She went to take a step forward to get him off but the vampire was suddenly falling to dust. Halfway into the dusting she noticed a stake in the girls hand. Her surprise only grew. She looked at the girl when she spoke. "How did you do that?" Dawn couldn't believe a human could do that... but then again maybe she wasn't human.

After the vampire was nothing more than a pile of ashes Elizabeth turned and looked at the girl standing to her left. The girl stood there in awe and then of course the inevitable question came. How did she do that? Why did everyone always have to ask that, could they just be happy that she had saved their life and not bother with all the quesions? Nope because that would be too easy and life was definitely never easy. Despite being asked this question before she never really knew what to say, she wasn't supposed to reveal that she was a slayer and this girl probably wouldn't even know what one was anyway. So she chose to tell half the truth.
I know about vampires and such, I have trained almost my whole life to fight them to get vengence because they killed my family when I was really young she replied. It would be better if this girl just took the bait and didn't ask more questions, of course that wasn't exactly that likely. Most people were curious about things they didn't understand but these things were not things that Elizabeth could explain to them very well. Her past was something that was broken and dark, it wasn't something she willingly talked about with people. Telling this girl that vampires had killed her family was going far enough as it was. And while that was true, her biological parents had been killed by parents, it wasn't as sad as people thought because Eliza had never known them. Oh well, don't ask, don't tell. Dawn stared at the vampires ashes, she then looked at the girl herself. She wondered... she felt ridiculous for even thinking about it but... the girl seemed to be able to take on the vampire with such ease and Dawn only knew two others that could do that. But they were both...
"You're not... not a, Slayer? Are you?" She asked slowly. Part of her hoped not. If she was then that meant that her sister was indeed replaced. Sure the town could use a slayer but Faith was here, and, and the rest of the scoobies. Whoever called on the slayers couldn't really have called another... could they?
